Introduction: Ajit Doval is a retired Indian Police Service officer who currently serves as the National Security Advisor (NSA) to the Prime Minister of India. He was born on January 20, 1945, in Ghiri Banelsyun village, Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, India. Doval joined the Indian Police Service in 1968 and served in various capacities including in the Northeast, Kashmir, and Punjab. He was awarded the Kirti Chakra, one of India's highest military honors, for his role in anti-insurgency operations in Mizoram in 1988. After retiring from the police force, Doval founded the think tank Vivekananda International Foundation in New Delhi. In 2014, he was appointed as the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
